LeiLiLaLoo’s Shop

I saw this sweet little shop featured on Etsy’s front page while I was surfing Etsy rather than working on my database manual (naughty) and I think it is rather special.

LeiLiLaLoo is the Etsy shop of Dana Komjaty, an Amsterdam based designer and mother of a 2 year old, who enjoys creating everything she can, from hand-painted ribbon, house pillows, paintings, fabric, hand-painted banners, to woodblock and beeswax art. She went to the Royal Academy for the Arts in her 20’s and emerged with a degree in pattern design and illustration. She worked as a freelance pattern designer until the birth of her son. Now she creates whimsical designs for her Etsy shop. Take a look….

LeiLiLaLoo

House pillow $45, Lavendar pillows $10, hand-printed ribbons $10, City under Clouds $22, hand-painted Fabric $18, and more House pillows $45.

All her creations are very unique, and have a nice mix of nubby linen, bright fabrics, and fanciful designs. They are quite beautiful (and very reasonably priced).

If you like Dana’s art, you can see her artwork and read more about her on her website leililaloo.com or on her blog.

Time for a Democratic Administration!

Obama and Biden in the White House!

Etsy has some fabulous ways to promote the vote.

Calling All Mamas for Hope and Change!

This t-shirt is one of my favs: This Mama is for Obama by ninaandtomsshop for $20.00. They have other tees too, perfect for spreading the message.

If you can donate to MoveOn.org, they will use your money to register young Obama votes and you will get this cool shirt for your donation of $12.00 or more.

This is a cool necklace with a subtle message from Silvercocoon. At $68.00 it is over my $50.00 limit, but it is too fab not to include.

Another necklace is this reclaimed scrabble tile pendant with a wonderful illustration by artist Frank Shepard Fairey. Nice. Nice price too…. $6.95.

I’ve been wondering where to get a yard sign, and I found this one from the BarackObama Store. It is $8.00, but you can probably find them in your area as well.

Here are some of my favorite bumper stickers.

This is a simple and interesting from Fundit.

These stickers Yes We Can $5.99 and Brighter Day $4.45 are from Cafepress.

Obama Mama $5.49 is from Cafepress and A change will do US good $2.50 is by seadog press.

Lastly, some Obama art.

Believe poster by artbymags for $20.00.

This poster by Paul Chung was designed as part of the American Hero series. $18.00

This is a limited edition Obama letterpress poster $20.00 by Joseph Newton.

This post is dedicated to my mother, a early and fervent Obama supporter.

Back to School

It is back to school time for Daphne and for me! It was time to get Daphne her first backpack, and since she only has snack there she needed a new snack sack as well. I finally settled on this cool backpack from Mimi the Sardine, which I ordered from Reusable Bags.com.

Mimi the Sardine Backpack in Fleur $34.95

Photobucket

Then I found this fun, lead-free lunch sack on my favorite Etsy.com. It is by a uniquely named shop DogboneArt. Lunch Bag in Pear $8.50

Photobucket

My daughter loves it!  The yummy, happy smiling pear makes snack time fun! Be sure to check out dogboneart for their awesome t-shirts, and totes, and everything cute!

Now that my daughter has everything she needs, I just need to get her to school on time!

Printing by Hand: A Modern Guide to Printing with Handmade Stamps, Stencils, and Silk Screens by Lena Corwin

I just received this book as a gift from a new friend, and I adore it! There are many exciting printing projects with complete directions on how to tackle each one. The author Lena Corwin covers silkscreening, stenciling, block stamping, and photo emulsion, on many cool formats like towels, t-shirts, aprons, cushions and furniture. I basically want to try to make most of the things in this cool book!

You can get it from your local bookstore, your library, Powell’s, or Amazon. Definitely worth buying!
